Darbie Michiel James
Darbie is 15 years old
and in the 8th grade at the Jose Santos Guardiola public
school. She lives in the community of Sandy Bay, in the house
pictured, with 7 other family members: her step-father, mother, 3 sisters,
and 2 brothers. All of the kid's share one bedroom except for the
youngest brother. She is an "Islander" who speaks both Spanish and
English.
What career do you want to have in the future? a lawyer
What are your favorite foods? pizza, hamburger, and fried chicken
Why do you like to play soccer? "Because it's fun and I have plenty of friends there."
What chores do you do around the house? "I wash clothes and help my mother clean dishes and help my sisters."
What do you like to do with your friends? "Play soccer and make pretty things that other people like."
What is your favorite TV show? Winnie the Pooh
What church do you attend, and what do you like about it? "I don't like to go to church because those people look down on me too much."
What do you think about when you think about God? "I think seriously about being in paradise with all of my family and God."
What is something that has happened in your life that made you very happy? "When we had a happy family together with me that I could lean on in all the moments of my life."
What is something that has happened in your life that made you very sad? "That my parents fight all the time and I don't like that because it makes me always mad at them."
If someone was going to pray for you, what would you want them to pray about? "For my parents and my brothers and me too because I don't like to see them sad and mad all the time."
