Kim is 16 years old and in the 9th grade at the Jose Santos Guardiola public school. She lives in the community of Sandy Bay, in the house pictured, with 6 other family members: her father, mother, sister (20), brother (17), sister Nancy, and sister (9). She is an Islander who speaks both English and Spanish.
What do you like about living on Roatan? "I like the beach a lot and I like it for the fun."
What are your favorite foods? sea food
What is your favorite TV show? Discovery Channel, Black Entertainment Television, La Fea
What chores do you do around the house? "Well, almost everything, for example clean."
What career do you want to have in the future? "I want to study science and literature."
What do you like to do with your friends? "We like to go to (the Island of) Barbareta for 3 days and spend a lot of time at the beach."
Why do you like to play soccer? "Because it is very fun and it distracts me from my problems."
What church do you attend, and what do you like about it? "I go to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. I go because I like to learn about God."
What do you think about when you think about God? "I think that He is our Savior and He is coming very soon."
What is something that has happened in your life that made you very happy? "When I got into high school for the first course (7th grade), and when I turned 15 it was my happiest day."
What is something that has happened in your life that made you very sad? "When I had to come and live in Sandy Bay because of family problems."
If someone was going to pray for you, what would you want them to pray about? "For my health, my family, and my education."
